Calis Beach Fethiye

Calis Beach is now a very popular holiday resort on Turkey's "turquoise coast" - and the crystal clear deep blue seas explain that name easily. But for Calis, it is not so easy as "Calis" means work in Turkish and that reveals a little of it's history. It hasn't always been a holiday destination - Calis Beach was "Work beach" where a small railway ran across the beach to the jetty (where Sat Restaurant now is at the far south end of the beach) with loads of chromium, mined inland. Those days are well in the past now and the only work done on Calis Beach nowadays is applying the sun cream - Calis is reported to have around 300 days of sun each year - and the beach is lined almost from end to end with restaurants serving superb Turkish cuisine and international favourites. The pedestrianised Calis promenade is the place to watch the simply stunning Calis sunsets. Calis is actually part of Fethiye.Calis Beach is 1 km to Fethiye and 50 km to Dalaman Airport.

Marmaris

Marmaris is a port town and tourist resort on the Mediterranean coast, located in Muğla Province, southwest Turkey, along the shoreline of the Turkish Riviera. Marmaris' main source of income is tourism. Little is left of the sleepy fishing village that Marmaris was just a few decades ago, after a construction boom in the 1980s. Marmaris still retains its charm due to its exceptional location between two intersecting sets of mountains by the sea. The town's population was 30,957 in 2010[1] and peaks at around 300,000 to 400,000 people during the tourism season. Marmaris' nightlife rivals anything on the Turkish coast. It is also a centre for sailing and diving, possessing two major and several smaller marinas. It is a popular wintering location for hundreds of cruising boaters. It is served by the nearby Dalaman Airport.

Dalaman Airport

Dalaman Airport is an international airport and one of three serving south-west Turkey, the others being Milas-Bodrum Airport and Antalya Airport. It has two terminals. The old terminal is used for domestic flights and the new terminal is for international flights. The airport serves the surrounding tourist areas and environs of Dalaman. Flights are available to and from over 120 destinations, across the rest of Turkey, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

ATM Dalaman International Terminal has been awarded the ISO 9001 Quality Certificate, the ISO 14001 Environment Certificate, the TS 13001 HACCP Food Safety Certificate and the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. The airport has also received praise for its environmentally conscious design, especially the use of natural lighting in its main hall.

Dalaman

Dalaman is a district, as well as the central town of that district, situated on the southwestern coast of Turkey, in the Muğla Province. Dalaman Stream forms much of the western border of the district, where its neighbors are Köyceğiz and Ortaca districts. The town of Dalaman is located in the coastal plain, whereas the rest of the district – towards Fethiye district on the coast and towards the high mountains on the northern border to Denizli Province – is upland, dominated by the valleys of the Dalaman Stream's eastern tributaries.

Dalaman is known for its international airport which serves as a gateway to the tourists who visit this part of Turkey every year, heading especially to seaside resorts to the west and east of Dalaman such as Marmaris, Fethiye, Köyceğiz, Dalyan, Ölüdeniz and Hisarönü.

In Dalaman, and especially on the Kapıdağ Peninsula, there are coves of extraordinary beauty, some of which can only be reached by sea. This is why these coves between Marmaris and Göcek are an ideal point for anchoring for the Blue Cruise boats. However, some of the coves, such as Sarsala, can be accessed by road. A state farm is present in Dalaman. Agriculture, particularly citrus fruits, plays an important role in the local economy, since it is situated in a fertile plain at sea level.
